Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz approved a petition by the actor, which claimed that Aber had been abusive and controlling and accused him of "withholding food and medicine" and "meddling in his personal finances", reports The AP.
"Chris is verbally abusive toward Mickey. He yells and screams at Mickey. He threatens, intimidates, bullies, and harasses Mickey," the legal documents stated.
"Mickey is effectively a prisoner in his own home."
The protection order will prohibit Aber from coming within 100 yards of Rooney and his property as well as barring him from contacting the 90-year-old until a hearing scheduled for February 24.
