Sarah Jessica Parker is to become the newest celebrity ambassador for Unicef.

The Sex and the City star will travel to Liberia to meet aid workers and refugees, according to TeenHollywood.com.

She explained: "I'm going to Liberia, where they've elected their first female president. It's a place that gets little or no attention, so we're going to try and bring some attention to it."

She added: "I grew up supporting Unicef. I have been collecting money for them ever since I was a teeny, tiny child."
