Dina Lohan has predicted that her daughter Lindsay will struggle with addiction for the rest of her life.

Dina explained that the actress, who recently completed a court-ordered rehab stint for drug and alcohol abuse, is "struggling" but believes she will be "okay" in the end.

In an interview with ABC News, Dina said: "I believe that Lindsay doesn't drink anymore, and I think it's gonna be a lifelong struggle with addiction. But I think she's gonna be okay.

"She's a young girl struggling. You know, she's not perfect... She's learning as she goes, but she's learning under a microscope, so I can't even imagine how that is."

The reality TV star explained that Lindsay's problems began when the 24-year-old moved to Los Angeles in 2004 and got involved with a hard-partying crowd.

She added: "I knew early on, I just didn't tell anyone about it. It was a personal situation. But I never thought it would be like this - that the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level. It's been really hard on my family, harder than anything."
