Johnny Depp has confessed that his children are not impressed by his celebrity status.

The actor - who raises 12-year-old Lili-Rose and 10-year-old Jack with partner Vanessa Paradis - claimed that the kids see him as regular dad and not as a Hollywood star, reports Showbiz Spy.

"They are not bothered at all," he said. "They get excited if Bob Downey [Robert Downey Jr] comes to the house but they don't get excited about me in any way whatsoever."

Depp also revealed that his occupation has led him to develop a second personality in order to maintain his sanity out of the spotlight.

"It's one of the dangerous pitfalls of doing this for a living. You feel infinitely more comfortable in the skin of your character than you do in life," he explained.

"There is one character that comes back to me quite a lot and that's this Raoul Duke - a Hunter S Thompson character from Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. It happens just because you find yourself in a certain situation where you don't feel you are capable to deal with it as you."
