Cyrus and Mayer were first spotted spending time together at the Grammys last weekend, where Mayer reportedly gave the Hannah Montana star a kiss. Cyrus then allegedly slapped the singer/songwriter's behind in response, according to AOL.
However, Hollywood Life reports that Cyrus is not looking for a long-term relationship.
"She definitely has a 'flavour of the moment' love life. She falls for the people she hangs out with and then when they stop working together it becomes a case of out of sight, out of mind," said a friend.
They went on to say: "John was just a fling, nothing too serious."
Cyrus and Mayer have been friends for years, with Mayer having attended a number of Cyrus's concerts since 2007.
