The ceremony to reveal Bryant's hand and footprints was held on Saturday at Grauman's Chinese Theater and attracted basketball fans including George Lopez and Jimmy Kimmel, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The Lakers shooting guard, who is the first athlete to receive the honour, explained that being included on the Walk of Fame took him by complete surprise.
"It's not something I've ever dreamed about or thought about… It's a great honour," the 2011 NBA All-Star Game MVP said. "To be next to some of the people I'm going to be next to is pretty cool."
The Hollywood Walk of Fame was established in 1958 and has since honoured celebrities such as director Orson Welles, Muppets creator Jim Henson and two-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep.
