Police are reportedly investigating a plot designed to blackmail Coleen Rooney.

Three people have been arrested and released on police bail accused of demanding an alleged "five-figure" cash amount for lost photographs of Manchester United star Wayne and Coleen's son Kai.

The couple accidentally misplaced a camera after attending a Black Eyed Peas concert in Manchester's MEN Arena last May. The Mirror reports that the stolen pictures were then offered to a number of a newspapers.

However, police were called in to deal with the plot last September, eventually leading to arrests being made.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police (BTP) commented: "We are currently investigating an allegation of blackmail following an incident reported to us in September last year. As a result, three people - two men and a woman - are currently on police bail pending further inquiries."
