The Motley Crue singer checked into the Clark County Detention Centre in Nevada last week to serve the time. The sentence stemmed from his June 2010 DUI case.
Speaking to the Las Vegas Sun, Neil said that the judge in his case wanted to make an example out of him.
He said: "They were a little harsh in the sentencing. But they wanted to make an example out of me, and it is what it is… It's not bad, but it's still jail. Jail is jail."
He will serve an additional 15 days of house arrest after completing his jail time as part of a plea bargain arranged with prosecutors last month.
Neil added: "I'm going to do it, do my time and put it behind me and move on with my life."
