The actress - who welcomed the child last month with partner Martyn LeNoble- told US Weekly that becoming a parent has completely changed her world view.
"Just being in love," she said when asked about her favourite part of motherhood.
"No offence to anyone that I know and love in my life, but you just really don't know love until you have that baby. You don't know. It's a whole 'other ball game'."
Applegate added that she already sees Sadie developing a personality.
"She's smiling and she's snarky," she revealed.
"She kind of looks at you and judges you."
