Steinfeld, who has received critical acclaim following her debut in True Grit, claimed that she was bullied continuously between the third and sixth grades at school.
"I was teased really bad," Steinfeld told Parade magazine."I just happened to be that kid everyone kicked on. It's the worst."
However, the actress claimed that she doesn't like to dwell on the past, and is instead looking forward to deciding where to go with her career.
"I think that whatever I do next [in acting] will kind of determine my decision," Steinfeld added, admitting that she hoped to be able to return to school at some point.
Steinfeld is nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress' at tomorrow night's Academy Award ceremony for her role in the Coen Brothers' lauded western True Grit.
