The Australian fashion designer, who lives in Melbourne, was forced to fly home from Sydney's Tropfest to give her time to recover from the highly contagious disease.
Rose wrote on her Twitter page: "I have whooping cough. I knew something was not quite right! Urgh."
The star's state of Victoria has been subject to an outbreak of the illness also known as pertussis. 1,353 people have been diagnosed this year, and a 14-day-old baby died from the illness earlier this month.
Rose is due to host Sydney's Mardi Gras festival next weekend.
