McElhone 'still writes to late husband'

Natascha McElhone has revealed that she still writes to her late husband Martin Kelly, who died suddenly in 2008.

The actress recently released a book of letters addressed to Kelly, entitled After You.

Speaking about her husband's death to the Guardian, McElhone said: "I was managing quite well with what life was throwing at me... but after a while it became overwhelmingly important to share the truth I was experiencing. So I had to put down everything I was thinking, let my sons see the well of love that they were born out of.

"I still write to Martin. My diary is largely addressed to him. I've kept a diary since I was 9; it predates him, and perhaps will one day be addressed back to myself. That will be a significant moment."

She also added that Kelly's death had taught her not to "waste time", saying: "I'm much more rigorous with myself than I used to be."
