"Mayhem" follows Doherty hearing
Scenes of "mayhem" followed Pete Doherty's court hearing where he admitted drugs possession.

The Babyshambles star, surrounded by reporters, climbed onto a wall outside Thames Magistrates Court. He them reportedly lashed out and a Radio One reporter's microphone was kicked out of her hand.

Doherty then ran down the street, chased by the scrum of journalists, before clambering over his Jaguar XJ6, getting in and attempting to speed away. He nearly collided with a red car as he pulled away, reports the Daily Mail.

Inside the court, the singer admitted possession of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis when he was arrested on December 18 in east London.

District Judge Jane McIvor agreed to delay Doherty's sentencing until April 20 so his rehabilitation progress could be considered. The stars lawyer, Sean Curran, told the court: "If Mr Doherty shows the inclination he has had on his first review, the court may look more favourably on him."

"It will mean he can continue with the good work he has done under this order," he continued. "It is still at its initial stages."

A journalist recently alleged Doherty had used drugs in front of him during an interview, however.
