Producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris announced the news on Friday, confirming that performances that were previously scheduled between April 19 and May 11 have been cancelled to allow for a number of revisions to take place.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that director Julie Taymor had stepped down, replaced by Phillip William McKinley, although she will remain part of the production's creative team.
Turn Off The Dark has suffered from poor reviews and a number of technical difficulties over the past few months, forcing the producers to bring a number of new creative team members, including comic book writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, to rework certain sections of the script.
U2 members Bono and The Edge, who have so far scored the production, have also confirmed that they will be contributing new songs to help accommodate the planned changes.
Turn Off The Dark will return with a number of preview nights beginning on May 12, followed by the official opening night on June 14.
