Cooper, Esposito 'knew marriage was wrong'

Bradley Cooper has said that he and ex-wife Jennifer Esposito have no hard feelings about their split.

The actors were married in December 2006 but were together for only four months before eventually divorcing in May 2007.

"It was just something that happened," he said during an appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show.

"The good thing is, we both realised it... Sometimes you just realise it. It just wasn't right. It's interesting... things happen!"

Cooper - who is currently dating Renée Zellweger - denied suggestions that the experience had discouraged him from tying the knot again in the future.

"Making any declarative statement [like that] is a joke," he insisted.
