Earlier this week, the comic was sacked as the voice of the Aflac duck after posting a series of jokes about Japan's massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake on his Twitter account.
The comedian later apologised for his remarks with an official apology, adding: "I meant no disrespect, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families."
Inside Edition now quotes Gottfried as saying that he doesn't advise others to mimic his often-caustic approach to humour.
"Observe everything I do and do the opposite," he jested.
The star also claimed that he was heartened by the support he's received from fellow celebrities including SIRIUS XM radio host Howard Stern, who branded the firing as unfair.
"Howard Stern was very nice. He spoke in favour of me, [as did] Joan Rivers and Whoopi Goldberg," he remarked.
Gottfried provided the voice of the Aflac duck for more than a decade and has also lent his signature vocal stylings to animated characters in Disney's Aladdin and the PBS series Cyberchase.
