Orlando Bloom has spoken out about how much he is enjoying fatherhood, after his wife Miranda Kerr gave birth to the couple's first child, a boy called Flynn, in January.

The 34-year-old said that he is loving every minute of being with his son, and sees fatherhood as being the new "big role" in his life.

"It's great, I love it," Bloom told Lorraine Kelly on a recent episode of Lorraine. "I've been bathing with him a lot recently, it's been really cute. It's a really nice little moment."

Bloom also admitted that although he is now beginning to feel comfortable as a father, it can be more difficult for men to realise the reality of becoming a parent.

"It's mad because as a women you carry the baby for nine months so you've very conscious that you have a little one inside you," he explained. "But for a guy, it's suddenly, there's a baby there."

It was recently reported that Bloom was close to working out a deal to reprise his iconic role as Legolas the Elf in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.

The actor will next star as the Duke of Buckingham in a remake of The Three Musketeers, which is due for release in the US and UK on October 14.
