American rapper Petey Pablo has pleaded guilty in court to possession of a stolen firearm.

According to Billboard, Pablo admitted to the charge earlier this week as part of a plea bargain, under which two other charges were dropped.

Pablo, real name Moses Barrett III, turned himself in to the authorities last year after a warrant was issued for his arrest over charges of gun smuggling.

The rapper is due to be sentenced in June, and could face a sentence of up to ten years' imprisonment.

Pablo is best known for featuring on Ciara's 2004 hit single 'Goodies', but has also released two studio albums, with follow-up A&R: Anticipated Recordings due later this year.

Pablo has yet to release an official statement regarding his guilty plea.
