Jonathan Rhys Meyers lawsuit dismissed

A lawsuit filed against Jonathan Rhys Meyers by an airline worker that he allegedly attacked has been withdrawn.

The Tudors star was sued by United Airlines customer service director Kathryn Williams earlier this month, following a drunken tirade at New York's JFK Airport last May.

Williams sought damages for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and outrage, further alleging that she suffered permanent physical damage and severe emotional distress in the incident, which resulted in Rhys Meyers being banned from flying with the airline.

However, Perez Hilton now claims that Williams has dropped her legal challenge against the 33-year-old, and insisted that reports of the actor's behaviour had been exaggerated.

A statement from her attorney Elliot Budashewitz confirms: "We have withdrawn her March 7, 2011 Complaint filed against Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the Supreme Court, Queens County.

"In addition, any interpretation of said Complaint as alleging physical contact made by Mr Meyers in (sic) inaccurate. There is no claim that Mr Meyers made any physical contact with Ms Williams or that she sustained any 'physical' bodily injury as a result of any physical contact. Any inconvenience caused [to] Mr Meyers by any misinterpretation of the complaint to the contrary was certainly unintended."

Rhys Meyers was reported to have used a racial slur during the altercation, which followed the star's previous arrests for similar incidents at Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport in 2009 and Dublin Airport in 2007.
