Tim Westwood: 'I hugged Nicki Minaj 20 times'

Tim Westwood has admitted that he "couldn't talk" the first time he met Nicki Minaj.

Speaking at The Big Snow festival in Andorra, Westwood claimed that he rarely gets star struck but is often "excited" to meet the artists he supports.

Asked how he feels when introduced to the rich and famous, Westwood said: "I'm always cool with it. I'm definitely a massive fan of a lot of artists though; the first time I met Nicki Minaj I just hugged her about 20 times."

The Radio 1 DJ continued: "I couldn't talk to her, it was ridiculous. We just kept hugging.

"People like that, who I've been waiting a long time to meet, of course I get excited. But mainly it's a lot of working relationships with the artists. We've known each other a lot of years and spent a lot of time together - that's the way to understand the game."

The 'Moment 4 Life' popstar recently revealed that Westwood gave her a tour of London when she arrived in the UK.
