Goldberg: 'I smoked pot before Oscar win'

Whoopi Goldberg has admitted that she was high on marijuana while reciting her Oscar victory speech in 1991.

TMZ posted a video of Goldberg from 1992 talking about how she smoked a "wonderful joint" to help calm her nerves before the 1991 Oscar presentation.

Goldberg won the award for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her role in Ghost that year.

During a voice-over recording session for the movie The Pagemaster, Goldberg said: "I learned a great lesson. Never smoke pot before there's a possibility of having to talk to 100,000,000 people."

The For Coloured Girls actress, who recently criticised James Franco and Anne Hathaway's Oscar hosting presentation, said that her mother could tell she had smoked marijuana when she accepted the award because her eyes were "glistening".
