The 23-year-old Australian supermodel, who is known for her role in The Black Balloon and was recently cast in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, starred in Perth Theatre Company's The Ugly One on Tuesday night for the first time.
Ward plays the wife of Lette, a very ugly man, in the Marius von Mayenburg play about the modern world's obsession with looks.
According to Perth Now, Ward stumbled over her lines at one point in the performance but was "mesmerising" to watch.
After the show, her mother Claire said: "I'd heard a lot of stories about the things that she was stressed about. She was a bit worried about the sex scenes. She is an actress. Right from the time she was really young she's always been very dramatic."
When asked her opinion on cosmetic surgery recently because of her involvement in the play, Ward described it as "mutilation".
