Kerry Katona has hit out at press reports which claim that she has put on weight.

A tabloid alleged that the former Atomic Kitten star's weight has increased since her elimination from the current series of Dancing On Ice.

"It still really upsets me," she said of the suggestions during an interview on ITV's This Morning. "I find that kind of publicity is a form of bullying. I haven't put any weight on - I'm eight-and-a-half stone, I'm a size eight [which] to me is too tiny. I think young girls who read these magazines and papers look at me and go, 'well, that's overweight' and start being sick or whatever. I think it's the wrong kind of information to be giving out there."

Speaking about the help she has received from her management company CAN Associates to turn her life around, she told presenters Mark Durden-Smith and Jenni Falconer: "They are kind of like foster parents really! They are more like my family. They were there for me when I needed somebody and they've not turned their back on me."

Finally, asked to address reports that she is dating Take Me Out contestant Dan Foden, a blushing Katona responded: "It's really early days and I'm just taking it one day at a time."

The new series of Kerry Katona: The Next Chapter begins on ITV2 at 9pm on Wednesday, March 30.
