Sarig was taken into police custody after threatening to kill employment consultant Adrian Smith during a financial dispute on Sunday, according to The AP.
Smith told police that he was attempting to receive a payment of $11,500 (£7,163) from Sarig for securing Reed a new personal assistant when the rock musician's manager became aggressive and threatened violence.
The New York City Police Department issued Sarig an order to appear in a Manhattan court at an unspecified date for a hearing on the altercation.
Sarig has no prior criminal record and has not yet been reached for comment on his arrest.
Reed, meanwhile, has previously been confirmed to perform at this summer's Hop Farm Festival as well as take part in the 12-hour 'Concert For Japan' on April 9.
