The 'Forget You' singer said that he feels entirely comfortable with his weight, having accepted a long time ago that he will always be big.
"I'm not out of shape, this is just the shape I'm in," Green said, according to Bang Showbiz. "What you see, hear, and experience is a person who is completely confident in their own skin.
"I wanted to incorporate a discipline that I'd never tried before but not to lose weight," Green added. "I'm not going to be a small person, I'm big-boned."
The Gnarls Barkley frontman admitted that being large helped him to develop a thick skin while growing up, and cites his passion for music as the thing that most helped him stay strong during that time.
Green announced plans to stop eating meat this year to help improve his health, after becoming a grandfather.
He also recently confirmed that he still plans to reunite with Danger Mouse for a third Gnarls Barkley album, despite his solo success over the past year.
