Coleen Nolan has revealed that the Nolans were targeted by a stalker at the height of their popularity.

The 'I'm In The Mood For Dancing' sisters will release their autobiography 'Survivors - Our Story, From Us To You With Love' on April 15. In an extract published by The Mirror, the Loose Women star recalled her fear of the group's determined fan.

"One of the most frightening times I've ever had was when I was about 18 and the Nolans had a stalker," she said. "He was very committed. Obsessive, in fact. He thought we were all married to him telepathically and that all the songs we sang were about him.

"When we got boyfriends he started threatening us and it became terrifying. A couple of times we found him sitting in his car outside our homes."

The 46-year-old continued: "Then one day he sent a letter saying he was going to turn up at our concert that night with a bomb or a gun. It was chilling.

"That evening, as the audience queued for the gig, our security team went up and down the line calling out his name. 'Oh, that's me,' this middle-aged guy said. The police arrested him and that was that. We never heard from him again."

Earlier this month, Nolan announced that she is quitting Loose Women to focus on new projects.
