The Australian newsreader, who has been having singing lessons recently, said that she is looking forward to playing the narrator in musical Side By Side By Sondheim.
Rowe told The Daily Telegraph: "What attracted me to this was that Margi de Ferranti, my singing teacher, is in the cast. I am not a singer but I have really enjoyed my lessons. It was such a lovely window that was just mine for an hour a day.
"I had to train my ear, I had no idea I wasn't singing in key. Margi has really helped me to do that. Believe me there are three extraordinary singers in the show. I will be introducing the numbers but as for singing, let's not rule anything out.
"I'm a real believer in giving things a go. At least I can say I did try it. But this is a whole new thing for me."
Rowe also revealed that she recently failed an audition for children's show Play School, a role which involves singing songs. She said: "Unfortunately I missed out this time around but I would love to have another crack at it."
Rowe has 3-year-old Allegra and 1-year-old Giselle with fellow Aussie newsreader Peter Overton. In 2010, Overton revealed that Rowe's post natal depression after giving birth was "very challenging".
