Carrie Underwood 'in no rush' to have children

Singer Carrie Underwood has insisted that she is in no rush to start a family with her husband, Nashville Predators ice hockey player Mike Fisher.

The former American Idol winner wed in June last year, but said that she is too busy enjoying spending time with Fisher to even consider having children.

"I don't want people assuming that I am until I say that I am," Underwood told People, regarding the recent rumours that she is already expecting her first child.

"We just got married, we haven't been married a year yet," she explained. "I would want to be married a little while."

"Now we're just having fun, and we should," the singer added, noting that the couple have "plenty of time" to start a family.

Underwood will make her big-screen debut later this month in the biopic drama Soul Surfer.
