Reese Witherspoon learned from first marriage

Reese Witherspoon has admitted that she was too young to be married when she wed Ryan Philippe at the age of 24.

Witherspoon and Phillipe had two children together but divorced in 2007, although the actress said that she still enjoys the idea of being married following her wedding to Hollywood agent Jim Toth last weekend.

The Water For Elephants star revealed that although her first marriage ended in divorce, she still learned a lot from her time with Philippe.

"I was like ridiculously young. I learned a lot though," Witherspoon told Elle. " It was a good opportunity for me to find out what it means to be a partner and to be in a marriage, and it's not anything like I thought it was."

Witherspoon also said that she was overjoyed when Toth proposed to her in December last year, claiming that she was worried she might have developed too many flaws to get married again.

"You're surprised somebody wants to be with you because, boy, I've got a lot of quirks and wrinkles," she added.
