Lil Wayne owes IRS $5 million

Lil Wayne has been ordered to pay the IRS more than $5 million.

According to the new lien, the rapper owes the US government $3,335,077.95 (£2,068,458.70) for revenue earned in the year 2008, and $2,258,956.04 (£1,401,033.90) for 2009, reports The Boombox.

The hip-hop star's IRS bill adds up to $5,610,034.00 (£3,479,416).

The 'Lollipop' singer, who spent time in solitary confinement during his recent jail sentence, paid off a previous tax lien last November to the amount of $1.13 million (£720,000).

Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne's next album, is scheduled to be released on May 16.

Producer Bryan 'Birdman' Williams said that fans can expect to see a different side of the rapper on the record.
