Lisa McCune has revealed that "simple things" make her happy.

The Australian actress, who is best known for playing Maggie Doyle in Blue Heelers, said that she is thankful everyday for having her husband Tim Disney and children Archer, Oliver and Remy.

McCune told Woman's Day magazine: "All the complicated things happen at work, while my life is really simple and I intend to keep it that way. I don't have a lot of space for negativity.

"The way I see it is that I've got three healthy children, I have a job, I'm not working down a coal-mine, I can go to the supermarket and buy food. The simple things in life are what you need and that makes me happy. I don't want for anything more."

She also revealed that she recently celebrated her 40th birthday with a beach party surrounded by family and friends.

McCune's most recent TV role on ABC drama Rake involved nude scenes, but she said that she "wasn't concerned" about it because she was so "thrilled" to be working with actors such as Hugo Weaving and Sam Neill.

She has also published a cookbook called Hopscotch And Honey Joys - Food For Your Family And Friends with her best friend Di Thomas.
