The actress, who is married to Tom Cruise, spoke about her daughter's impending fifth birthday during an interview with KIIS-FM's On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Monday.
"She wants a piñata and her girlfriends to come over, and swimming," she told Seacrest. "We're gonna make a cake together."
She went on to say that Suri, who was recently voted one of the world's most fashionable children, also wanted a tea party, adding: "This is my favourite day of the year!... I like to girl it up."
In a separate interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, the star said that she liked to "dedicate" the entire month of April to her daughter's birthday. "She really helps plan her party," she added. "I want her to be happy so we make lists and have meetings and she picks out things."
Holmes can currently be seen in the controversial mini-series The Kennedys, in which she plays Jackie Kennedy to Greg Kinnear's John F. Kennedy. "Obviously there was a lot of talk about it and attention," she said recently. "Our job was to do our best. I think there is a nice balance of the human side and the professional side. I'm proud of what we did."
The Kennedys continues at 8pm on Reelz in the US and begins April 7 at 9pm on History in the UK.
