Peter Andre has admitted that he is "hurt" by suggestions that his romance with Elen Rivas was fake.

The singer confirmed his relationship with the Spanish model in January. He reportedly met Rivas - who competed in the latest series of Dancing On Ice - at a mutual friend's dinner party in November.

Writing in New magazine, Andre confirmed that he has ended his four-month relationship Frank Lampard's ex-girlfriend.

"I did adore Elen," he wrote. "She is so stunning and I know we'll remain good friends. But the fact is I just didn't get the chance to see her in the end. It's not fair for me to ask her to put up with me being on the road for weeks at a time."

Responding to suggestions that the pair - who are both managed by Can Associates - had faked their relationship, Andre hit back: "I am hurt that some people have suggested our relationship wasn't real. I would never be part of something like that.

"We never did any work together because we didn't want people thinking this was ever about publicity."

Andre and Amy Childs have used their respective magazine columns to dismiss claims that they are romantically involved.
