Ashley Greene 'thought friends were prettier'

Ashley Greene has admitted that she used to be a tomboy when she was younger.

The Twilight actress, who recently confirmed her split from Joe Jonas and has since been linked to Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill and actor Chris Evans, told InStyle Hair that she wasn't particularly girly as a child.

"I was always trying to be like my older brother," she explained.

"[Then] I got really self-conscious because I had older friends. I thought they were prettier, and they were going through all these life experiences before I was."

Speaking about her beauty routine now, Greene said: "I love having my hair and make-up done, but I'm really just a 15-minute girl, throwing everything on with no fuss."

The actress, who is currently filming the next instalment of the Twilight saga Breaking Dawn added that fitting her hair beneath the wig for character Alice Cullen in the vampire movie "is a talent in itself".
