The couple and their eight children starred together on the TLC reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8 for five seasons, before the Gosselins decided to end their marriage in 2009.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Kate claimed that she has put aside any acrimony she once felt for her ex-husband and is happy to see that he's found work with a construction company.
"He's working now so he has something to focus on that's more constructive," she said. "He sees the kids."
Even after Jon was famously linked to both Hailey Glassman and Kate Major following the break-up of his marriage, his ex-wife insisted that she has always tried to remain consistent in her treatment of her former partner.
"I have remained the same throughout," she remarked. "I want it to be peaceful, but I can only control my side of it, so I just deal with whatever he hands me and try to be positive. Generally speaking, [it] depends on the day."
Kate added: "I guess it's a lot about my attitude and this is what I have to deal with for the rest of my life, so [I] might as well make the best of it."
The second season of Kate Plus 8 continues with new episode 'Australian Zoo Visit' next Monday on TLC.
