Lauren Conrad signs three-book deal

Lauren Conrad has reportedly signed a three-book deal with HarperCollins.

The former Hills and Laguna Beach star plans to pen a trilogy titled The Fame Game, reports Gossip Cop.

The books will follow Madison Parker, the lead character from Conrad's LA Candy novels, as she inches closer to fame as a reality TV star.

Last month, MTV passed on a new reality show starring Conrad.

The TV personality, who recently claimed that she is not a romantic, said that MTV felt the show's subject matter was too "high-brow" for their viewers.

"We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn't feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it," Conrad said about the project.
