Denise Van Outen, Johnny Vaughan 'don't speak'

Denise Van Outen has revealed that she and former co-presenter Johnny Vaughan are no longer in contact.

The TV personality, who previously fronted Channel 4's Big Breakfast with Vaughan and later joined his Capital Radio breakfast show for six months, told Radio 5 Live that she has not had contact with him since leaving the station.

Van Outen explained: "I haven't seen Johnny for a while, since I left the breakfast show, and I haven't heard from him.

"At that time it was quite a difficult situation - as much as I love Johnny, it wasn't a comfortable environment to be in.

"I think he wasn't happy that I joined in the first place - he made it quite clear."

The 36-year-old has subsequently married musical actor Lee Mead and given birth to daughter Betsy, but said that Vaughan has made no attempt to contact her, despite the momentous events.

She added: "It does [hurt] - it's a shame because we were really good friends.

"I did try to speak to him after I left but he sort of blocked me."
