Kate Gosselin 'shocked by counselling lawsuit'

Kate Gosselin is reportedly shocked by a recent lawsuit filed against her by a Pennsylvania marriage counselling firm.

Creative Energy Options sued the Kate Plus 8 star earlier this week for an estimated $10,674 (£6,529) in alleged unpaid fees associated with services they provided prior to her 2009 divorce from husband Jon.

However, Kate apparently plans to fight the matter as she alleges that the debts are not her own to pay but belong to Jon, who approached the company for life coaching sessions.

"How many times did Jon make it crystal clear that the ex-couple never had marriage counselling," a friend of Kate's told PopEater.

"In several interviews, he blamed Kate's refusal to seek counselling as one of the main factors that led up to their marriage falling apart. So how could Kate possibly owe this money?"

The insider added: "This doctor didn't provide marriage counselling, she was Jon's life coach. And we can all see how well that worked out. If anyone owes her money it's Jon. Although if I were him I would ask for my money back!"

Kate recently insisted that she tries to maintain peace with Jon for the sake of their eight children.
