Robert Pattinson has claimed that he is sick of being described as "brooding" because of his role in the Twilight film series.

The actor, who plays the solemn vampire Edward Cullen in the Stephenie Meyer film franchise, said that he hopes to move past the label once the Twilight series finishes next year.

"I never got that 'brooding' thing," Pattinson told Elle. "I've had about enough of that."

The actor also admitted that The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz's comments that Pattinson is "a weirdo, in the best sense" were probably accurate.

"I guess I used to be weirder," Pattinson explained. "When you're confronted with yourself too much you start to think, 'Jesus Christ, you're so f**king boring'.

"I talk about myself too much now," he added.

The actor also recently claimed that he is much more boring than people expect when they meet him.

Pattinson can next be seen opposite Reese Witherspoon in the romantic drama Water For Elephants.
