Simon Baker: 'My wife is amazing'

Simon Baker has revealed that his partner is "amazing".

The 41-year-old Australian actor, who signed a new contract for his role in The Mentalist in December, said that his actress wife of 13 years Rebecca Rigg has been a "great support" to him during his career.

Baker told The Daily Telegraph: "She's been amazing. If it weren't for her, I probably wouldn't be able to be in this situation. I mean, really, she's been a great support. I guess I sort of realised happiness becomes more simplified to you the older you get - not admitting that I am old because I refuse to admit that.

"But the idea of happiness is a lot simpler to me now than what it ever was when I was younger, before I had a family."

The couple have three children called Stella, Claude and Harry and have tried to make sure they embrace their Australian heritage despite living in Los Angeles.

Baker said: "It's incredibly important and I think we've done it quite successfully. All of my kids love Australia and understand the culture there enough to be able to slip backwards and forwards without a problem."

He also revealed that, after his wife took a guest role on The Mentalist last year, he decided that he likes "being married to her more than [he likes] working with her".

Baker recently said that fans can expect "a lot of big 'holy crap' moments" in the third season finale of the show.
