The 54-year-old explained that Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II, also known as 'Blanket', are all "enjoying" their first experience of normal education. The trio had previously been home-schooled.
She told Access Hollywood: "For the first time they have gone to school and they really like it, so I'm very happy for them. It's taught [them] something totally different about people and life. They're just enjoying themselves.
"And they go shopping, they do things of that nature, but they're with security of course. And they enjoy themselves, they have fun."
La Toya also said that she admires the children for being so strong and admitted that they have helped her to cope with Michael's death.
She added: "They're doing very well - children are so resilient. I'm so proud of them, I'm just very happy.
"They help me a great deal with my brother. I couldn't listen to the music, I couldn't listen to the songs. If they can get over it then I have to too."
