Bonnie Wright, Jamie Campbell Bower engaged

Jamie Campbell Bower and Bonnie Wright have become engaged.

Bower - who can be seen alongside Wright in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 later this year - confirmed the couple's intention to tie the knot earlier this week.

"I'm engaged, I'm very happy," the actor told The Beast. "It's a wonderful, wonderful time."

Rumours that the young stars planned to marry first surfaced in June 2010 after the pair were apparently heard discussing a forthcoming wedding at a party in London.

However, Wright later denied the reports, insisting that she had no plans to marry Bower and that he had not proposed.

Bower recently described his role in the final Potter film as "an honour", while Wright confessed that filming the final scenes felt "weird".

Bower is currently portraying King Arthur in Starz serial Camelot, which airs Fridays at 10/9c in the US. It will air on Channel 4 later this year in the UK.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 opens in theatres worldwide on July 15.
