Jessica Rowe has revealed that she loves her "quiet" life.

The Australian newsreader, who is married to 60 Minutes broadcaster Peter Overton, said that they work well together when it comes to bringing up their young daughters Allegra and Gisele.

She told New Idea magazine: "We lead a really quiet, happy life and we love it. When Peter's off work, he'll take the girls swimming, hang out at the park and play tea parties."

Overton added that he is becoming used to living in a house full of women, saying: "I live in a world of pink, but I love it. There's something very special about the relationship between a dad and his girls. If I'm really in need of some masculine company at home, I can always retreat to my garage with Alfie, our cat!"

Rowe described her and her husband as a "good team", saying that they "dovetail" together well. "He's not what you'd call a cook at home," she said, "but he fires up the barbie and puts the bins out. He's very hands-on around the house."

She recently revealed that she will be quitting the newsroom to take part in musical Side By Side By Sondheim.

Overton has previously opened up about the postpartum depression Rowe suffered from after the birth of one of their daughters, describing it as very "challenging".
