Speaking in the new edition of She magazine, the former EastEnders actress said that she is happy with her body.
"I've learned a lot since hitting my 30s and accepting what I am and what I'm not," she said. "I've stopped striving for something I can't maintain.
"I don't want to fly the flag for being unhealthy and overweight, but I don't want to fly the flag for being too thin either. I've never pretended to be a supermodel... I make the most of myself and I'm real."
She added that public and press scrutiny of her figure over the years was "a blessing and a curse" and said that "the good, the bad [and] the ugly" had been used to describe her.
"You start to realise you need to be your own best friend and be kind to yourself," she explained.
McCutcheon, who revealed last year that she was keen to start a family with fiancé Jack McManus, also said that she is "not too worried" about having children and wants to enjoy married life first.
