Brooke Shields has been announced as the guest speaker at Princeton University's 2011 Class Day ceremony.

The AP reports that the Chalet Girl actress, who graduated from the Ivy League institution in 1989, was invited by this year's departing class to address the students during graduation weekend on May 30.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will speak at the baccalaureate event held on May 29.

Previous Princeton Class Day speakers include Stephen Colbert, Katie Couric and former President Bill Clinton.

Amy Poehler was recently chosen to speak at Harvard University's Class Day, also being held next month.

Shields was announced earlier this month as a replacement for BeBe Neuwirth in the Broadway production of The Addams Family.
