Padma Lakshmi: 'Daughter loves the city'

Padma Lakshmi has revealed that her 14-month-old daughter Krishna loves living in New York City.

The Top Chef host told People that the infant feels stimulated by the busy city lifestyle and is "always learning" new things, much like her own upbringing.

"She's definitely a city baby. I was a city child too, whether it was in a big Indian city like Bombay or here in New York City, so she's the same. She loves being in the city," she explained.

"She always likes going out and seeing new things. We walk around a lot and that's a way for her to kind of explore... It's wonderful to see the world through her eyes."

Lakshmi was recently involved in a custody battle over Krishna with the baby's father Adam Dell, who claimed that the former model values her career more than motherhood.

She was said to be devastated that details of the case had become public and hoped to resolve the case peacefully.
