'True Blood' Moyer crashes car at charity event

True Blood star Stephen Moyer caused drama at a charity racing event this weekend when he crashed his car during a qualifying race.

He was racing to qualify for this weekend's annual Toyota Pro Celebrity Race in Long Beach, California when he rolled his car after hitting one of the track's walls on a particularly sharp bend.

Despite the accident, 41-year-old Moyer emerged from the crash completely unscathed, and even managed to score the fastest qualifying time out of all the celebrities taking part.

"It was a surreal experience," Moyer admitted after the accident, according to the Daily Mail. "It felt like a roller coaster ride when my car flipped.

"I'm not as concerned with winning the race as I was about winning today so my charity, Racing for Kids, would get an extra $15,000 donation."

The actor married his True Blood co-star Anna Paquin in August last year, although it is not known whether she was present at the event.

Other celebrities taking part in the charity event include Kevin Jonas, Frankie Muniz and Desperate Housewives star Brian Austin Green.

Moyer will return to television on June 26 for the fourth season of HBO's True Blood.
