Tracy Morgan mocks Trump's Obama birth claim

Tracy Morgan has publicly mocked potential presidential candidate Donald Trump's assertion that Barack Obama might not have been born in the US.

The Celebrity Apprentice host has given a series of interviews where he revealed that he's hired private investigators to probe Obama's background and also charged the politician with dooming America's economy.

During an appearance on The Daily Show, Morgan addressed Trump's comments by jesting that he, in fact, has a copy of the US president's birth certificate.

"I just want to reply to the Donald Trump thing," the 30 Rock star remarked. "Donald, I got [Obama's birth] certificate. It ain't in Hawaii, it's in Brooklyn. Come and get it if you want to see it."

Morgan went on to tease that he has enlisted his own investigators, who have uncovered a secret from the mogul's past.

"I got some people uptown in Manhattan checking you out... [Donald has a] little black boy with blue eyes and hair that go like this," the comic joked as he mocked Trump's signature haircut. "Come see that boy. Come see that boy, Donald!"

Earlier this month, fellow comedian Bill Cosby also disparaged Trump's potential bid for high office by suggesting that the Celebrity Apprentice star is "full of it".

The Daily Show airs Monday to Thursday on Comedy Central.
