Ruth Langsford has spoken of her happiness at being married to Eamonn Holmes.

The couple, who present ITV's This Morning together, wed last July after 12 years together. Speaking to The Mirror, Langsford admitted that their relationship has felt different since they tied-the-knot.

"Isn't that weird?" she told the paper. "And if you asked me why I couldn't put my finger on it. I think it's brought us closer.

"I was thrilled when he proposed. I can't believe how skittish and girlie I felt - I was showing my engagement ring to everyone! It feels lovely being married. Maybe it was a piece in the jigsaw that was missing. We both feel it. I still love saying 'my husband'."

She continued: "We'd always had conversations about getting married and talked about it when Jack was born, but even so, when he did propose it was totally out of the blue and I was thrilled.

"But it does seem weird to use his surname after all these years - it feels like when you're at school and you're writing the name of a boy that you fancy on your exercise book. I'm still not used to it and have to practise. I was stumbling as I signed a document in front of this guy the other day. I looked like I was forging my own signature."

However, she confessed that the pair still bicker: "With Eamonn I sometimes forget we're on television and will snap his head off as if we're at home. And I have stood on his toe before behind the kitchen counter if he has annoyed me. But I think viewers like that dynamic of a husband and wife team."

Langsford, 50, went on to praise Holmes for making her feel good about herself.

"Eamonn is my biggest fan and always makes me feel really sexy," she said. "When I think I'm at my slimmest he thinks I'm too thin. He likes me curvy - he loves boobs, bottoms and legs. I'm really lucky because it would be awful to have a man who commented on me piling on the pounds."
