The Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star will appear at the May 3 gala for Montreal's Jewish General Hospital, reports the Canadian Press newswire.
"That's where he found out he had his cancer. He was happy to do [the fundraiser]," Douglas's publicist Allen Burry said.
Dr Saul Frenkiel of Jewish General added of Douglas: "It was his very gracious offer to help us in view of his own battle with throat cancer."
A round of golf with Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones will be auctioned off at the event.
Douglas was diagnosed with throat cancer last year but said earlier this month that his treatment has been successful.
Zeta-Jones's rep recently revealed that the actress sought treatment for bipolar disorder at a health facility.
